Kalawi Farm is a fourth-generation peach farm in Eagle Springs, fifteen minutes west of Pinehurst, just past West End. The name comes from the founders’ first three kids, Katie, Laura, and Will. There’s a farm stand out front selling peaches grown right across the road, plus other produce depending on the season, and a play area for kids to run around while you shop.
Ben’s Ice Cream, named after the founders’ fourth child, is the reason most people make the drive. The peach is made with fruit grown right there on the farm, and flavors are named after the family’s grandchildren, things like “Nash’s Nanner Puddin'” and “Paisley’s Popular Peach,” which tells you how personal this place still is. There’s a complimentary scoop of vanilla for any dog that comes along. The ice cream stand runs seasonally, spring through fall, so go in peach season if you can time it.
