Lazy Fox is a first-generation lavender farm two miles outside historic downtown Cameron, twelve varieties of lavender across the fields, plus heritage breed sheep, chickens, and a working apiary. It’s a real working farm, not a photo-op built for visitors, which is exactly why it’s worth the drive. There’s a gift shop on-site selling dried lavender bundles and lavender-infused goods, and you’ll need a ticket to get in, this isn’t a stop you can drive up to on a whim.
Big Dipper, a restored vintage ice cream truck run by the same family, parks on the farm during scheduled open days and serves handcrafted ice cream right there in the lavender fields. It’s a genuinely odd, genuinely good combination, a vintage truck and a working farm most visitors never think to seek out. Check their site for open days before you make the trip, and bring a camera either way.
